How can music help us to understand the creation of the universe, Earth, and how life began and evolved?
Fifth House Ensemble teamed with the Ravinia Festival’s One Score, One Chicago program. and KV 265, a non-profit organization that focuses on teaching science through art, to present a performance on the creation of life as we know it. Students will be intermittently introduced to new information about the universe and the planets by astronomer, Jose Francisco Salgado in conjunction with a commissioned painting from Costa Rican artist, Angela Bermudez. Fifth House Ensemble will also be introducing student audience to all of the musical instruments that will be used in the performance. The performance contains an original arrangement by Cliff Colnot of music from Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animal, and Holst’s The Planets.
