“The Hawaiian Spider”
Tell us about a time when you saw a spider and/or a spider web. What did you like or what didn’t you like about seeing them? How do you feel about spiders and their webs in general?
“The last time I saw a spider, I was actually in Hawaii, a couple weeks ago. And we were in this really beautiful room. But the thing that’s really interesting about Hawaii is that you’re in this tropical place but its really a jungle. Like, there are lizards everywhere, there are bugs, there are spiders, there are cockroaches this big. So I look out the window of this place, and I literally see, like if anyone’s ever seen the book Charlotte’s Web where you see this beautiful web, I literally see the entire length of this full glass sliding door is covered with this web, that is perfect and beautifully shaped, and in the middle of it there’s a spider like literally this big. The web was so huge, and it had that perfect circular shape, like normally when you see a web happen its like, you might see parts of it or you might see some white stuff somewhere, this is like a beautiful sort of filigree. But I was looking at it and I was going “Oh my god, this this is going to kill me!” and then I realized it was dead and it had probably been there for a really long time. But I’m thinking “how did it end up in the center of this web”. It made me very curious. SO I couldn’t really be scared of it because it wasn’t going to hurt me, but I was kind of grossed out by how huge it was.”
