Binghamton University Residency: MIXED MESSAGES - Virtual Performance

Virtual Event, 7:30pm ET/6:30pm CT

The Binghamton University Department of Music proudly presents a virtual performance featuring Chicago’s Fifth-House Ensemble in “Mixed Messages" — a wildly eclectic program that includes new arrangements of an award-winning video game soundtrack, irresistible new tunes and experimental sound creations. Praised for their “spirited music-making of the finest kind” (San Francisco Chronicle), this all-star ensemble joins forces with Binghamton’s intrepid group of student composers and the Binghamton University Chamber Singers to offer a toe-tapping and genre-bending program that features lush portraits of Southern Tier farmland, sonic explorations of existentialist philosophy, and unique pieces about tarot cards, roadkill, insomnia and the Letter B.

The culmination of a semester-long digital residency filled with workshops, rehearsals and professional development sessions, this engagement of Fifth House Ensemble is made possible through the ArtsCONNECT program of the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
