BFH Radio - Broadcast from Here is a continuous and evolving soundscape that Lisa Bielawa has been tending since mid-March, just as we turned the corner on a full year since the pandemic first hit. BFH Radio reflects an awareness that our world is moving, and that people’s lives are beginning to go in diverse new and bewildering directions. Always cycling through and undergoing an additive process, it lives at an internet radio station that has had listeners from 48 countries so far, and contributors who send instrumental and vocal performances, spoken-word testimonies and field audio. During this performer showcase, we will be creating a further disturbance in this stream by going LIVE for two hours: layering curated performances by Fresh Inc Festival participants, soloing on top of the existing bed of international noise and streaming live with video and then getting incorporated to the radio feed immediately, joining that bed of sound under the next performers. From June 7-20, the annual Fresh Inc Festival returns, reimagined for a second year as a digitally-connected experience. This season’s festival creates robust opportunities for participants to interact with each other, a diverse roster of guest presenters and composition faculty, the members of Fifth House Ensemble, and a wide-reaching digital audience through live streamed performances and educational programs.
