Summer's witching hour

Fall is just about my favorite time of year.  Not that I'm not *quite* ready to plummet into the cold weather of winter, but I've always loved the start of a new season or a new school year.  My summer months involve considerably less bassooning and considerably more waitressing as I fondly call it, and by August I'm chomping at the bit for the season to get underway so that I can feel like a busy musician once more.  On Tuesday night, we were given the honor of closing the summer Rush Hour concert series at St. James Cathedral. We've played there for the past four years, and this year was truly a delight.  Our performance of Beethoven's Septet was broadcast live on WFMT, and I think that we did the piece justice.  It was also our new horn player Matt Monroe's first official performance with us.  We all had a great time getting reacquainted with the music in the last couple of weeks, and it was such a great way for us to close the summer of 2011 and whet our appetites for what's ahead of us this season.  I for one am ready for September and to launch into the 2011-2012 season!  Check out the Polaroids below...
