Moving, Moving, Moving!
Fifth House Ensemble wants to let you know about some big moves that are being ushered in with the new year. First, our long-time pianist, Adam Marks, will be relocating back to New York at the end of December. Adam has been with 5HE since 2006, first as a guest, then as a commuter from NYC, and finally as a full-time Windy City resident. He has played countless works with us, including the 5HE favorite Vox Balaenae, which was his first introduction to members of the group many moons ago. Please join us in thanking Adam for his energy and talent both at the piano bench and coordinating the ensemble's collaborative programming process. We'll miss his cheerful spirit at every early morning rehearsal, his culinary adventures, and, of course, the fleece moose pants that made many a pre-show late night possible. We know he'll be up to great things, and you can follow his latest projects at www.adammarks.com.
Chicago folks have one more chance to catch Adam in performance with 5HE! On Friday, December 14, 2012 at 7:30pm at the Unitarian Church of Evanston, our Board of Directors will host a holiday concert, "A Fifth House Christmas", to benefit our education programs. Please join us for "A Fifth House Christmas" to say goodbye to Adam and help us raise money for our education outreach work in holiday style! Click here for more information.
Last but not least, we're excited to announce another big move: after a few months of commuting between Ann Arbor and Chicago, pianist Jani Parsons will join 5HE's roster in the New Year. We met the fabulous Jani at fresh inc 2012, and in October she joined us in Detroit for our performance of Black Violet Act I. Jani is a wonderful musician, and a fantastic human being, and we're ecstatic to have her join us in the rehearsal room, in the classroom, and on the stage. Welcome to Chicago, Jani!
